Wheat is the basic bread plant of the world. Up to 70% of the world population feeds on wheat bread. The bread, pasta, crackers and cakes are just the beginning of the list of foods produced from wheat. It contains vitamins B1, B2, B3, folic acid, calcium, phosphorus, zinc, iron and fibers. Wheat, as well as other wholegrain crops, is also a rich source of the mineral magnesium, which acts as a co-factor for a large amount of enzymes which are involved the secretion of insulin and glucose.
